PROJECT

Salt and Potash Groundwater Monitoring

EQUIPMENT USED

CT2X Sensor

Project Title:

Salt and Potash Groundwater Monitoring

Project Type:

Groundwater Monitoring

Feature Summary:

Environmental regulations mandated continuous monitoring of groundwater to detect potential changes in the surrounding environment. Our deployment of CT2X sensors provided a robust solution for continuous groundwater monitoring with real-time results.

PROBLEM

Environmental regulations mandated continuous monitoring of groundwater to detect potential changes in the surrounding environment and culturally significant areas during mining activities. Ensuring compliance with these regulations was critical to prevent environmental degradation and protect sensitive sites.

SOLUTION

To meet these regulatory requirements, a comprehensive monitoring solution was implemented using the following approach:

CT2X Sensors: Sixty precise and rugged CT2X sensors were deployed across a 50km plain under challenging conditions. These sensors were selected for their ability to accurately measure groundwater conductivity, temperature, salinity, total dissolved solids (TDS), and pressure. Each sensor was connected to individual loggers for automated data collection, ensuring continuous and reliable monitoring.

RESULT

The deployment of CT2X sensors provided a robust solution for continuous groundwater monitoring. The user-friendly data collected by the sensors was managed and displayed in a format that met regulatory requirements. This information was invaluable for our client, as well as for hydrologists and environmentalists, allowing them to:

  •  Detect early signs of potential environmental changes.
  •  Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  •  Make informed decisions to mitigate any adverse effects of mining activities on the environment and culturally significant areas.

The successful implementation of this monitoring system highlighted the effectiveness of using advanced sensor technology to meet stringent environmental regulations and protect sensitive ecological and cultural sites during industrial operations.
