Automatic Settlement Profiler (ASP)
The Automatic Settlement Profiler (ASP) is a sensor designed for precise measurements in settlement monitoring. It consists of a series of distributed pressure sensors within a sealed, hydraulically charged tube.
The system measures differential pressures across the tube which translate to changes in elevation. In time, these changes provide insight into the settlement and heave of soil structures.ASPs are available at lengths ranging from 25m to 125m, with sensors installed at 1m, 2.5m or 5m intervals. Spacing options can be chosen to suit your budget and ground conditions.
The ASP is adaptable to many geotechnical environments. Measuring elevation rather than rotation, it is ideal for uneven ground. The system can be installed in multiple configurations, including:
- Buried in trenches
- Installed within conduits
- Cast into concrete
The system utilizes an RS485 communication capability, easily integrable with existing data acquisition devices to enhance usability. Data is reported in millimetres so it can be easily interpreted for timely interventions.
Other features of the ASP include:
- Low power consumption: Making the ASP an ideal choice for long-term monitoring projects or remote sites where power maintenance can be difficult
- Digital command system: Allowing remote adjustments to the ASP’s configuration.
- Easy installation: The ASP is designed for easy installation. It is orientation independent and completely sealed, meaning that it does not require an elevated reference location.
