CT2X Sensor
The CT2X is a conductivity and temperature sensor ideal for borehole monitoring. It is capable of measuring and logging:
- Temperature (-5°C to 40°C)
- Level (up to 300PSI)
- Pressure
- Salinity
- Conductivity (0-300,000 µS/cm)
- Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
With a 0.75inch diameter, the CT2X sensor is available at 12.5inch and 16inch lengths (depending on the model chosen). It utilises a 4-pole epoxy and graphite electrode set to minimise data interferences. This lessens polarisation effects and lowers contact resistance problems, making measurements and readings more accurate.
The CT2X has in built data-logging and is able to hold up to 349,000 records in non-volatile memory. This makes it suitable for long-term monitoring projects without the need for frequent data retrieval. The sensor is easily integrated with existing data systems.
These features make the CT2X ideal for harsh conditions such as those in industrial settings and saline waters. Constructed of epoxy/graphite, the unit itself is also extremely durable.
Installing the system is a simple process as it is compatible with most existing software and logging equipment. It can be powered through either AA batteries or an external auxiliary power supply. With several cabling options also available, the versatility of the CT2X allows it to be tailored to any environment.
The CT2X is commonly used in industries such as agriculture, environmental management and construction, where reliable, real-time data on water conditions is crucial. Monitel has used this sensor on several projects, including at Mardie Salt and Potash. CT2X sensors were installed across a 50km area to continuously monitor groundwater conditions.
