The inclinometer spiral sensor is a precision instrument used to detect and measure the twist (or spiral) in inclinometer casings. This data helps to identify casing misalignments, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of tilt measurements in monitoring projects.

This sensor is constructed with a durable stainless steel that makes it reliable in challenging conditions. Despite this, the design is also lightweight, making it practical for field use. Other features and specifications include:
  • Detects twist angle with an accuracy of ±1° (per 30 m)
  • Compatible with depths up to 50 metres
  • Overall length of 570mm, gauge length of 400mm
  • Compatible with casing sizes ranging from 70mm to 85mm
The inclinometer spiral sensor can be used with any compatible vertical inclinometer system, utilising the same cable, reel and hand-held readout. The device offers seamless integration with data logging systems, simplifying data collection and analysis. This includes real-time feedback on casing alignment, allowing for corrective actions to ensure precise tilt measurements. The spiral sensor is indispensable for projects requiring precise inclinometer data. Its ability to identify and correct alignment issues enhances the efficiency and accuracy of inclinometer systems in geotechnical projects.

The QJ Inclinometer Casing is a high-precision casing designed to aid inclinometers in monitoring ground movement, structural shifts and wall stability. It can be used:

  • In boreholes and fill material
  • Cast in concrete
  • Attached to structures

Made from either rigid ABS plastic or aluminium, it provides exceptional durability and minimal deformation, ensuring accurate and repeatable inclinometer readings over long monitoring periods.

The QJ Casing features four keyways at 90-degree intervals, guiding inclinometer probes along a fixed path for accurate lateral displacement measurements. Self-aligning joints ensure consistent keyway positioning, eliminating misalignment issues during installation.

The casing features quick connecting joints, widely considered to be easier to install than traditional glue and socket casings.

Monitel also has access to the QJ Casing’s full range of accessories including caps, anchors and magnetic targets.

The casing is compatible with most standard inclinometers to enable seamless integration into new or existing monitoring systems.

Specifications

  • Joint strength of 186 Kgf
  • Maximum temperature of +80°C
  • < 0.3 degree/3m groove spiral

The XC Inclinometer Casing is a high-quality, durable casing designed for inclinometer installations monitoring ground movement, wall stability and structural shifts. It can be used:

  • In boreholes and fill material
  • Cast in concrete
  • Attached to structures

The casing is constructed with four integral keyways positioned at 90 degrees, ensuring accurate alignment of portable and in-place inclinometers. Each casing section is joined with external couplers glued together at each end.

To accommodate movement during settlement, the casing has telescopic sections. Mastic and tape seals prevent water and grout ingress.

Interestingly, the XC Casing can be cut and re-joined onsite, providing you with extra flexibility and the ability to easily repair any damage.

Monitel also has access to the XC Casing’s full range of accessories including caps, anchors and magnetic targets.

It is fully compatible with most standard inclinometer probes, making it a reliable and versatile solution for structural or geotechnical monitoring systems.

Specifications

  • 70mm diameter
  • < 0.3°/3m groove spiral
  • Maximum temperature of +80°C
